Alterations beyond hemline adjustment are quoted separately. Here's why — your piece is made to your exact measurements at the time of production, but bodies change over 10–12 months. We want to ensure the fit is perfect when you wear it, so we quote alterations based on what's needed at that time.
-
Bespoke pieces take 10–12 weeks from order to completion. This includes design development, sourcing, construction, and fittings. Rush timelines are available on request — contact us to discuss.
-
A 50% deposit secures your order. The balance is due before final fitting. We accept bank transfer and card payments.
-
We recommend 10–12 months before your wedding date for full bespoke. Shorter timelines may be possible depending on your design — we'll confirm what's achievable when we talk.
What our brides say
I had the most wonderful experience with Mizz Rio. Mags was totally engaged with me and nearly read my mind.
Molly
Galway
I could not have loved my experience with Mizz Rio more. Mags and the team were so lovely, and so patient with my many, many questions. Being based in Scotland, it was great to have a phone call and discuss ideas and get the measurements correct.
Holly
Scotland
I had such a wonderful experience at Mizz Rio. From the moment I arrived, Mags made me feel so comfortable and welcome. She has such a warm way of helping you explore what truly suits you, and she encouraged me to focus on what I actually wanted.

The questions you're actually asking.
-
That's most of our brides. You don't need a vision — you need a conversation. That's what this appointment is for. We figure it out together.
-
Only if you're comfortable. We have silhouettes in studio and we'll work through some shapes and fabrics to see what feels good — but nothing happens until you're ready.
-
Then we've learned something valuable. Knowing what doesn't work is half the process. And honestly, it's rare — most brides are surprised by what clicks once we strip away the noise.
-
Yes, and many brides prefer it. You'll have the studio to yourself. No other appointments, no distractions. If you want to bring someone, you can — but you don't need to perform for anyone here.
-
Bespoke gowns start from €2,000. Veils and capes from €400. Most full looks sit in the €2,500–€6,000+ range depending on structure, fabric, and detail. We discuss investment clearly at your consultation so you know exactly where you stand.
-
We recommend 10–12 months before your wedding date for full bespoke. Shorter timelines may be possible depending on your design — we'll confirm what's achievable when we talk.
How long it takes
Recommended lead time: 10–12 months before your wedding date.
Month 1 — Consultation & Deposit. We meet, we talk, we find your direction.
Months 1 — Design proposal. I send you the full concept — sketches, fabric direction, investment quote. We refine until you're happy.
Months 2–3 — Design approved. Background production begins.
Months 3–8 — Production with our master ateliers. Updates shared by WhatsApp or email throughout. A toile (prototype) may be made first for more complex designs.
Months 8–10 — Piece arrives at studio. Fittings — typically 1–2 visits but we refine until we are happy.
Months 10–12 — Final adjustments, pressing, and collection or courier delivery.
Shorter timeline?
Talk to us. Depending on the design — particularly cleaner, less structurally complex silhouettes — we can often make 6–8 months work. We'll always be honest about what's achievable.
Planning ahead?
If your wedding is 18+ months away: You're not too early. Booking now gives you more time in the design phase, more options for fabric sourcing, and zero pressure on the production schedule. Early brides get the calmest experience.
Your consultation — what to expect
The questions you're actually asking.
-
No. Most brides don't. The consultation is designed to help you figure that out. Come with whatever you have — a clear vision, a vague instinct, a list of things you hate, or nothing at all.
-
You can, but many brides prefer to come alone and find it easier to focus. The studio is private — there's space for one guest comfortably. If you want to bring your mam or a friend, that's fine. Just let us know when booking.
-
Every size. Every piece is made to your individual measurements. There's no sample size to fit into, no size range we stop at, and no standard you need to meet. Bespoke means for your body, full stop.
-
Online, yes — our lookbook and real bride gallery show pieces we've designed. But the best way to understand what we do is in the studio. We have finished pieces on display so you can see and feel the fabrics, the construction, the finishing — the standard we work to. Photos show a design. Holding the fabric and seeing the seams shows you the quality.
-
We work with brides across Ireland, the UK, and internationally — and some never visit the studio. Consultations can happen on Zoom. We've designed full bespoke pieces remotely from start to finish, with the final look delivered by courier. Brides travel from Kerry, Cork, Belfast, London, and beyond — but if distance makes that difficult, it's not a barrier.
-
It probably will. Your piece is made to your measurements at the time of production. If your body shifts over 10–12 months — and most people's does — we adjust at the fitting stage. That's what fittings are for. Alterations beyond hemline are quoted separately so you know exactly what to expect.
More questions answered
-
Absolutely. We've designed in black, champagne, blush, slate, navy, deep red, and colours mixed specifically for individual brides. Colour is a design decision, not a rebellion.
-
Yes. Bridal separates, trousers, suits, and jumpsuits are a regular part of what we design — especially for city weddings, civil ceremonies, and brides who want to feel powerful rather than pretty. We make sure it reads as bridal, not corporate.
-
Of course. Short dresses and minis work brilliantly for registry offices, intimate celebrations, and second looks. Same construction standards as a full gown — the length changes, the quality doesn't.
-
Yes, and there are smart ways to do it without designing two separate pieces. Removable sleeves, detachable capes, overskirts, a topper that transforms a base dress — we design for versatility so your look evolves through the day.
-
Deposits are non-refundable as they secure your production slot and cover the initial design and fabric sourcing work. We'll confirm the full terms in your design proposal before you commit to anything.
